About me
Heather Dawn McCaig is a long-time educator at Crescent Heights High School in Medicine Hat, Alberta, where she teaches leadership and other subjects and has helped build an active leadership program that engages students in community service and school events. She has been involved in teaching leadership since the mid-1990s and has a strong focus on developing student skills in teamwork, resilience, and volunteerism. McCaig served as president of the Alberta Association of Student Councils and Advisors (AASCA), a provincial leadership organization supporting student leaders and teachers, and held that role for six years. She co-chaired a junior high leadership conference, helping bring together young leaders for workshops and skill-building activities. Her leadership teaching has helped students at Crescent Heights and beyond take on meaningful projects and grow as leaders in their schools and communities.
